Freya Polts, Geelong Guild Athletic Club

President – Freya Poulter

Freya has been on the Geelong Guild Committee for many seasons now having mostly holding the Registrar Portfolio. This year she moves to the President and with two boys who have been actively involved in the Guild community as athletes, and her husband Stewart actively involved as a Geelong Guild coach, she is well and truly part of the family!

Harvey, Geelong Guild Athletic Club

Vice President – Harvey Murrant

Harvey is a long time Geelong Guild athlete who has stepped up in the last season to take on the added role of Vice President. He has brought a youthful energy to the committee, playing a huge role in the ongoing social media content, as well as taking over the organisation of the club apparel.
Greg Mervin, Geelong Guild Athletic Club

Vice President – Greg Mervin

Greg is only a recent addition to the Geelong Guild Committee, indeed he is only a recent addition to the Geelong Guild family, however he has already made a huge influence around the track with his positive and friendly attitude. Taking on the Vice President role for season 2020/21 Greg will continue to fly the flag in many events on a Saturday, and bring valuable insight to our Committee

Astrid, Geelong Guild Athletic Club

Secretary – Astrid Paape

Astrid has been involved at committee level as Secretary for the past two seasons and she is always diligent in making sure the meeting minutes and communication around the club are spot on. In a role that requires quality administration skills Astrid makes sure that there is nothing that slips through the cracks.
Rob VdW Scaled, Geelong Guild Athletic Club

Treasurer – Rob van der Wilk

Long time Treasurer, Rob, has been involved at Geelong Guild for decades. He is a life member, former President, and previously a long time AV Official. His contribution to Geelong Guild should not be underestimated and he continues to rule over the finances with an iron fist.
Cindi, Geelong Guild Athletic Club

Registar (AV) – Cindy Holzer

Cindy has been one of the constants around the Geelong Guild committee for many years having held various roles including President and Secretary throughout the years. She now looks after the officials rosters and is our grant writer expert, as well as coaching, competing and officiating herself, Cindy really does do it all.

We are extremely lucky to have Rachel join our committee for season 2020/21 as she has had a long involvement with the Leopold Little Athletics Committee, and the expertise and athletics knowledge that she brings will be invaluable.

Michael Little, Geelong Guild Athletic Club

Team Manager (AV) – Michael Little

Michael has been an athlete with Geelong Guild ever since the Little Athletics days! Now one of our seasoned open athletes, he has taken on the Co-Team Manager of our AV athletes for season 2020/21 and is excited to be more involved in the club that he has represented for so long.

Matthew Wade 2, Geelong Guild Athletic Club

Team Manager (AV) – Matthew Wade

Matt has been in the Team Manager role for 10 years now with a special focus on Relays, as well as continuing to drive the team spirit and team culture.
Micheal Tomas, Geelong Guild Athletic Club

Team Manager (Little A’s) – Michael Thomas

Michael has coached the Geelong Guild Junior squad (U8 – U12) for the past two seasons. The junior squad training promotes fun, friendship and fitness. All Little Athletic events / disciplines are covered across the season program with an aim of getting the ‘basic’s right’. The junior squad train at Deakin University Waurn Ponds campus on a Wed night during the Little Athletics season. Michael competed for Geelong Guild in the early 1990s with more passion than talent!

Tash, Geelong Guild Athletic Club

General Committee – Tash Laherty

Tash has been the key pillar behind the increase in Geelong Guild Little Athletics numbers over the last couple of seasons. She has been a constant at the Guild tent, organising volunteer rosters and always assisting with a smile on her face and a positive attitude.

Hamish, Geelong Guild Athletic Club

Geelong Athletics Board Representative – non-committee position – Anna Devonish

Anna has been involved with Geelong Guild as a parent and an official for many years now. While we have long been keen to get her onto our committee, this year she has taken on the role of Secratary of the Geelong Athletics Board, as our Geelong Guild rep. While this is a non Geelong Guild Committee position, her influence and feedback will prove invaluable throughout the 2020/21 seaosn.

Hamish, Geelong Guild Athletic Club

Member Protection Officer (non-committee position) – Hamish Nelson

Hamish has been an athlete, a coach, and a former Geelong Guild Committee Member across his journey at the club since moving down to Geelong from Melbourne. For the past two seasons he has taken on the role of the Geelong Guild Athletics Club Member Protection Officer for the senior section of the club.
